Eligibility, Criteria & Categories

Eligibility

Applicants can be an individual, company, organization, governmental body or agency, or a group comprised of any of these. Applications may be submitted by any party having an interest or involvement in a project. The project must be a redeveloped brownfield which has been completed and ready for use between January 1, 2016 – August 31, 2018. For purposes of this award, “brownfields” are environmentally impaired abandoned or under-utilized properties.

At least one member of the nominating team must be a member of Minnesota Brownfields by the date of the application.

Criteria

A team of independent judges will serve on a panel for each of the four award categories – Community, Economic, Environmental, and Greater Minnesota – and will select the winners. Judges will be comprised of leaders in government, environmental, business and/or academic professions.

Applications will be evaluated by the judges based on measurable results of beneficial impact, use of innovative solutions, and incorporation of sustainability.
