Beacon Bluff Parcel 5

Submitted by St. Paul Port Authority

A public-private partnership between the Saint Paul Port Authority and Interstate Partners, LLC was formed to return four acres of formerly polluted land fronting Phalen Boulevard on Saint Paul’s East Side to productive use. The Port Authority demolished, remediated, and re-platted this portion of the former 3M world headquarters, including constructing new roadway access and relocating existing and installing new infrastructure, prior to building construction and occupancy in 2015. The project is part of a nearly 11 acre parcel acquired as part of the Port’s 2009 acquisition of 3M’s 46 acre campus when they consolidated operations in Maplewood and left 1.5 million square feet of vacant buildings and land behind. The site is now home to Moventas, a Finnish-owned wind turbine gearbox repair company.
